Dreams Beds - Executive Single Bed Review

The sales people in the shop are pushy and will say anything to get you to buy. We went on the 50% off BIG bank holiday sales weekend, the sale was so big we had to ask where it was- the sales man pointed to one bed, which had been reduced to over £1,000

We were told that the bed and wardrobe we were interested in would not need any assembly. This was the main reason for buying there as we aren't a fan of DIY. The sales man said if there were any problems he would come personally and build it himself. Needless to say we had to hire a third party to build both items and the sales man apparently was no more.

The bed was delivered a day before the wardrobe (over 6 weeks after ordering and handing over of cash). The bed came flat-packed and the delivery guys were not told of assembly so we were annoyed but were in a rush so just payed separate for that to be done.

But the morning the wardrobe was due to come, it was due for delivery the next day, I dialled up Dreams to nip any potential problems in the bud. The man said that the unit will be made but we would need to put the inside shelves in ourselves which was apparently easily. However, again, the delivery guys came and the wardrobe was completely flat packed and we were not down for assembly. After a very long phone call, which even involved one of Dreams talking with the delivery guy and telling him the wardrobe was built except for the drawers- yes the Dreams man told the delivery guy who was standing next to the flat pack what's what!! The delivery guy told him he was wrong and we were then passed to another Dreams person. The second person was the manager and was very rude and made out like we were making things up! She told us the sales guy who promised assembly was not at that store, and that WE were in the wrong (goodness knows how) yet in the end, wait for it, happy ending coming up- after arguing with them and telling them we would need to pay for a third party to build, they said they would give £40 back!! Yay! That might just pay for the phone bill...

P.s. please note. During the phone call, when the wardrobe was half in the house half in the van and the delivery guys were sitting down having a drink in the lounge. We told Dreams we didn't want the wardrobe unless it was assembled (it was a v. big wardrobe) one of Dreams told us they would take it back but if this assembly problem was sorted out it would take another 4-6 weeks from that day to be delivered. But then when we said the same to the Manager, she said they would take the bed back but we would NOT GET A REFUND because they apparently fulfilled their contract!! Wtf? They promise things and don't deliver.

Conclusion: Don't bother reading the small print (who got time) just don't go to Dreams :)
