Yep - I am one of the people who have received a letter saying I will no longer be on 15.9 percent when I finish my 0 percent period, I am now going to be paying over 24 percent.......Amazing that credit card companies can get away with this. To be honest I hadn't planned to spend on the card anyway so will be calling them up to keep the 15.9, but plan to pay off before they make any money out of me. I have had other MBNA cards and never had a letter telling my interest is going up 10 percent, especially in a market where the base rate is 0.5. Virgin would have agreed with this strategy
