It has been interesting reading all these comments and encouraged me to continue fighting Unicom over over termination fees being unfairly applied. We cancelled our agreement because we have moved premises to France and the number ceases to exist. This is 3 years after the contract was signed but not 3 years before the supply date and Unicom have applied the principle of auto renewal (I had no idea whatsoever that it existed in their contract) to justify £1200 termination fees.
Just a pain it takes up so much time writing letters, plus I hate the way they phone all the time on my mobile while I am abroad. At my expense!
Beware also when you cancel a direct debit your call charges increase. Calls to france increased from 3p to 46p a minute. We only found out afterwards. But Its in the T and C too
