DO NOT USE HARVEYS!!!

I wouldn't even recommend this company to my worst enemy. I cannot stress how bad harveys are!!

I was very pleased with the service I received at the Lakeside store on 06.04.09 so I ordered a 3 seater sofa and chair. I paid in full and waited a while for these items (which wasn't a problem) and was excited to receive a call to arrange delivery for 13.06.09. I even received a text the day prior to confirm delivery between 8-11AM, which I thought was fantastic organisation.

On the Saturday of delivery I missed a telephone call and had a voicemail (which I received before 8AM) from the delivery driver asking for directions. I returned this call several times and he did not answer so I left him a voicemail. When I heard nothing I called his number again and spoke to him. His attitude was not very customer friendly and he told me he was now elsewhere and I wouldn't receive our suite as planned. He told me I should have answered my phone and that he had photographic evidence of his delivery van outside my property.

I had been checking outside the window and at NO POINT did I see a Harvey's delivery van outside my property. Nor did he at any point ring our very loud intercom system. Isn't that what delivery drivers normally supposed to do when they turn up?

I was disgusted with his attitude and decided to call customer services. After speaking with an un-interested man who took my details and rang the driver I then spoke to a manager who sided with the delivery driver and made me feel like I was in the wrong. My call was a complete waste of time and money! All I was told was that I would be contacted once the suite was back in the warehouse for re-delivery.

I never saw the pictures that the driver took of his delivery van outside my property. I paid a lot of money and a delivery charge for my suite and I have also waited very patiently and did not expect to be treated so badly.

I started an email complaint and all I asked for was a refund of £59.00 delivery charge as my furniture didn't turn up on the date set. Not only was I treated badly by customer services and the driver but when the furniture was eventually delivered they damaged the wall in our hall and my mum had to take half a day off of work to be in for when it arrived as I was told I could have another Saturday slot, then to be later told they only had Thursday/Friday.

Once they have got your money they don't care. I have wasted a lot of time and effort and telephone calls and emails trying to resolve this and got nowhere.

I feel I must warn others of the way they treat their customers.
