I have just returned from a weeks holiday in Tenerife. 3 days into the holiday I came out in a red, itchy rash all over my body including my face and neck. Anti histamine tablets and hydrocortisone cream didn't seem to be having any effect. I assumed this was a severe heat rash and would disappear when I returned to the UK...no chance unfortunately... worse was to come. The rash was still incredibly itchy at home and one morning shortly after I returned home I woke up with swollen eyes. I had to get an appointment at a walk in centre and the doctor advised I had a severe allergic reaction to something and prescribed 3 days of Steroids. On the last day of the Steroids the itchy rash still hadn't cleared so I went to see my GP who advised it may take 4 weeks to competely clear and all I could do was take anti histamine tablets. The Steriods took the swelling down on my eyes but my face was do dry the skin round my eyes was cracked and so painful I had to squint. The top layer of skin on my face pealed off in the end. A hellish week and a half of itching after returning from holiday and my back, arms and legs are still terribly itchy. I am so very pleased I found the other comments as they totally tie in with the experience I am having and the symptoms I have suffered. Needless to say, I will never be using Piz Buin again.
