My Mum attempted to pay some money into my account on Saturday at the counter and was refused as the Halifax do not take third party payments over the counter and was force to used the deposit box. The money paid in has gone missing, and as she forgot to tear the receipt off of the deposit envelope I have lost my money. The branch in question ignore all my requests for a call back, prompting me to travel to the branch during my lunch break yesterday. I was told that they couldn't find any evidence of the payment and I would have to write a letter prompting an investigation. The chances are that the payment was stolen by a member of staff because the receipt was left on the envelope.

The staff were very unhelpful and rude, did not address me in the correct manner and left me in tears in the middle of the bank.
There is no consistency of service, I normally use the Halifax branches in Central London who allow you to pay money in over the counter with the details written on a bit of paper. This deposit box system leaves no room for human error and present dishonest staff with plenty of opportunities to steal!
They just make it up as they go along!!!
I have lost £130 which to some may not seem like a lot but to me it is.
As soon as I can move all my relevant payments I will be closing the account.
