Yes I was stupid enough to buy one of these, luckily I kept my old hoover for backup, the PetLover junk has sat in the cupboard.

One day I had a few minutes and took it apart out of curiosity and the problem is immediately obvious, the filter compartment does not mate properly with the chassis. There is plenty of suction at the motor side (run it with the filter compartment off and put your hand over the intake), but this is almost all lost around the rubber seals to the filter which are either misaligned or just inadequate. Just put your hand near the filter compartment and you will feel all the power being lost.

The lack of suction leads to all the other problems, poor suction in the hose leads to it becoming blocked which in turn probably causes overheating through lack of air flow to the motor and all the other issues I've read on here.

It appears Elecrolux have "spoiled the ship for halfpenth of tar", 2 decent seals and it would probably be OK, but as is it's worse than useless...
