The attitude of those working for LAN PERU and dealing with the customers has become overbearing and arrogant. LAN has hired without evidence of training employees in Customer Service.... A normal person gets a position and they think they have power - give them a uniform and they can command. NOT.
Here is a letter I just wrote to LAN's VP of Customer Service.
LAN Peru
I seldom write a letter of grievance but I know that LAN prides itself in good customer service, so I am taking the time to point out a problem employee to you.
I am a loyal customer of LAN. Yearly, I fly LAN three or four times. On September 12th, 2009 I was boarding LAN PERU flight #026 from Cusco to Lima and I was rudely treated by LAN PERU employee Maria Alejandra Rodriquez.
I was traveling with a briefcase and my flight bag, which measures 12"x18"x8" (30x46x20cm) on an Airbus 319. This is the same flight case, used by pilots, which is within the restrictions of LAN. She told me that it was not acceptable and I would have to check it. When I explained that it was within regulations she became rude, arrogant and overbearing. I called for a manager and when he came and saw she was wrong, he apologized and allowed me to board my flight.
Sir, this behavior by your employee should not be allowed to go unchallenged. I ask you look into Maria Alejandra Rodriquez's offense behavior and explain that her position with LAN exists because LAN cares about its customers and does not abuse them.
