After ordering a sofa and chair ('Castillo' range)from Harveys online on 30 August 2009, I read several negative reviews of the store and its customer service. I began to worry that I may have made a mistake with my purchase. However my worries were unfounded when only two weeks after the purchase date the store called to advise that they would be delivering on the 12 October, approximately 6 weeks total waiting time. When I realised that the 12 October would not be convenient for me I called Harveys and they rescheduled for 2 October, 10 days earlier than the original delivery date. The furniture arrived at 1pm on the due date, intact and exactly as described on the website. The delivery guys brought it into my house and unwrapped it without causing any damage to walls or furniture. Despite being slightly anxious about ordering furniture that I had not had the opportunity to try out when visiting a local Harveys store I was pleasantly surprised at the good quality of the suite and so far have no complaints. I am a person who quite often experiences bad luck when ordering products so am delighted that this transaction has gone so well. I imagine that people are more likely to write a review if they are dissatisfied with a product or service and this is probably the reason for so many bad ones. However I thought I would redress the balance because bad reviews are certainly off-putting and will not do the store's reputation any good - I'm sure that for every dissatisfied customer they must have many happy ones surely?
