  • Have you booked through this tour operator before?
    No

this was the 1st holiday my sister and i have been on with saga and was very dissapointed.we are both in our late 80`s and chose saga as it is for the over 50`s,i have a heart problem and my sister and i both have artifical knees which we declared when booking our holiday and asked if we would have assistance with our cases at the airport,we were told we could book assistance which we done, we need not have bothered no one helped us with our cases off the carosel when we landed. we had to haul them through the airport ourselves, when we found the saga rep she wasnt intrested and told us the number of out coach and told us to go outside and look for it,so we hauled our cases out to coach by ourselves,we could of got this service with any holiday tour operator so if you are elderly and think this company will give you any special help when traveling they dont.
we were booked into the kaktus hotel in albir spain on all inclusive, with satalite tv in all rooms, you could only get 1 english channel.
there was a kettle in the room but no milk sugar or tea bags, you had to get that from down stairs and bring it up with you.
the bowl of fruit in room when we arrived looked old,so we did`nt fancy eating it, that was left rotting in the room all week,we didnt throw it out ourselves as we wanted to see how long it would be left like that by the cleaning staff,it was still there when we left.
breakfast was the best food of the day.
the dinner meals were very poor standard, with uneatable meat.we lived on salad and cheese, the desserts were very good, the wine on the dinning tables was horrible
im not sure when this hotel got the good food award,it certainly would not of got it when i was there in september 2009,most people complained to the rep about the food but she was unintrested
also if like us you have problems walking far there are not many shops within a short walking distance.
also the free coach trips advertised in the brochures involve quite a lot of walking so we were advised not to do them but we couldnt swap them for any of the paid trips, the other trips you pay for are very over priced
dinner was at 8pm so by the time we had dinner it was 9pm that left 1hour before the free bar closed at 10pm not 11pm.we were told you could only have 1 drink on the table per person so couldnt double up before 10pm and as we are not quick drinkers we only managed one drink after dinner.
when i have been all inclusive at other hotels bottled water has been provided in the rooms but here you had to pay for bottled water.
there was no activities during the day, we had a couple of dance shows in the evening which were good. also a girl singer a couple of nights, but some nights no entertainment at all.
all in all a very dissappointing holiday we were pleased to get back home.
a couple of people we got talking to at the kaktus hotel had booked for a month . when we left they were trying to arrange to leave as they were unhappy there for all the reasons stated above
they had stayed at the kaktus hotel in 2008 and said it had changed a lot in a year
