Tried them all from cable to BT and others that have gone bust. O2 in comparison are excellent, your router brakes down, they will send one the next day. Getting hold of customer service with "customer service" no problem. Speed in general really depends upon BT backend and can fluctuate, regardless of your DSL provider, though nevertheless good. Pricing with 3 months free thrown in and cheaper with an O2 sim card (I'm not) is very competitive. Yes I know there is no such thing as unlimited downloads at these price ranges, but I download stuff regularly and have never been "traffic shaped" from the tools I have used to monitor.
Virgin Media win all these alleged awards after advertising in certain magazines (win-win!) but their customer service for existing customers is appalling and I have left them fr this reason, though their speed was never much as advertised, it was reliable and consistent.
Would I recommend 02 ? wholeheartedly , and only drawback is the genuinely "chav" wireless router they supply with it's dreadful early nineties software on it....if you have a better one ...just use that one instead.
So apart from the router,02 are an excellent DSL broadband provider as many here have already expressed.
