Just wrote my car off in an accident and Churchill have been an absolute nightmare. The car i purchased 6 months ago was a focus limited edition with spoilers and alloys all of which I understood were standard parts due to it being a special edition. Had a call from Churchill to say that the engineer and said that they were not standard parts but modified. I rang ford garage where to car was registered with from new they confirmed that all parts were standard. Then found out that the alloys were ford alloys but 2" bigger that the ones that were originally on there, churchill told me I should have known this - Not sure how unless you are a car fitter etc??? They have now made my pay £135 premium on the policy and put my excess from £100 to £550. I did point out to them that if I had known about the modifiactions when you do a policy online there isn't actually a section that asked you about modifications anyway...its all in the small print!!! Myself and my wife have not had to claim on any insurance policy for 15 years and the 1st claim we make and are treated like this - an absolute rip off STAY AWAY FROM CHURCHILL
