I am FURIOUS with this airline! I brought just ONE carry-on bag but was told there was no space at all for it so I had to check it and it would be forwarded to Denver (layover in Atlanta from DC). I did so quickly because the stewardess was rushing to leave and got a hand written receipt (found out later she filled it out incorrectly). When I got to Denver the bag wasn't there and I had to wait around, deal with the baggage claim people and then literally got put out in the cold. It was warm in DC but freezing in Denver and all my warm clothes were in the carry-on...why would I need to carry a sweatshirt when I have a carry-on? I drove out to the mountains where I was staying and couldn't get a hold of ANYONE in the baggage claim office. They finally got the bag to the main office of the campgrounds but not until the next day when I had already been forced to buy a sweatshirt and toiletries because it was so cold and the office had no toothpaste or anything for me to use! I called AirTran and they basically told me "tough luck" because it was to me in 24 hours. What was I supposed to do in the 16 hours I was without my things? They said that was on me. I asked the girl, "how can I avoid this in the future?" she said "Bring a carry-on sir" to which I exploded...she forgot that I had brought this as a carry-on not a checked bag. It still got me no where with NO compensation at ALL. I will pay 2x what AirTran is offering just to avoid them in the future!
