I can't understand some of the other reviews that seem to be so narrow -minded trying to fault everything about Currys as they can, which in my opinion is disgusting, trying to put other people out of jobs. I can say however to people reading, is that i would recommend currys over its rivals any day. A few years back, i bought a ex-display computer there, and the monitor i wanted was discontinued, I was very ready to change my mind and find a alternative, but i was told that they could order a ex-display in from another branch. I took out the cover for the monitor and the tower, and quickly needed it. The monitor started to display a vertical bright line, so we contacted currys, and were told to contact the manufacturer as it was still under their guarantee. Iiyama quickly sent out a brand new monitor a week later. Couple of years later, the tower started acting up, so i phoned up, and they sent out an engineer a couple of days later. He quickly diagnosed the fault and replaced the motherboard. He helped to set the whole thing back up, and worked fine after that. Recently I was bought a compaq laptop from currys, which had been great untill recently, when the left hinge was coming off, and windows wasnt booting. It was very close to it's cover expiring, so we phoned up, and days later they sent out a courier to collect it. The repair centre tried several times to keep us in the loop, leaving messages on the answerphone. They said it would need a new hard drive, and asked whether i wanted Vista reinstalling or reverting back to xp. This sort of service is fantastic, and within a week, i had my laptop back.
More recently, my parents bought a new samsung american fridge freezer from currys.digital in york. The female assistant politely assisted them, apologising if her knowledge about refridgeration wasnt broad. They were just buying it as they had done their research. The fridge was in the sale and cost £650. They were surprised by the delivery, as they were expecting it to take at least a week. In fact, they ordered it on the saturday and it came bank holliday monday first thing in the morning. This sort of service is what we keep coming back to currys for, not the likes of comet, who we have had bad experiences with in the past. If you want great service, i would reccomend the currys digital in york, and currys in general.
