This previously successful holiday park was taken over last year by new owners who seem to have got rid of all the previous staff, cannot keep hold of any of the new staff and show no concept of competence in running a holiday park or public bar.
There is no attempt to please visitors whatsoever and everyone who has spoken to us have been disgusted with the state of the place. Many of them, like us, are returning customers from before the takeover.
Multiple price increases this season, despite the sometimes absent tariff, make this a very expensive place to drink, with some prices even contrary to those advertised in the bar itself.
Staff would appear to have been in the toilets at some stage of the new ownership as, there are new, though usually empty, soap and paper towel dispensers. Sadly however there is no evidence of cleaning of these toilets since the takeover and the floors are festooned with urine and bits of tissue. The smell of the toilets is simply overpowering. The tables and menus are sticky and smeared with food. There is often a shortage of glasses resulting in an abundance of disposable plastics which then litter the decking area along with the plates, leftover food and detritus as there never seems enough staff to collect them. The whole area is plagued with wasps making for a very unpleasant experience outside, though at night this is less noticeable as there is no external illumination and the whole decking area, although open, is in darkness. The staff state that they do not know where the switches are, a year after the takeover.
Interestingly this complex displays a five star hygiene rating though as the staff seem to change weekly it is optimistic to hope that any skills of those who gained the certificate are retained.
For The Nab, a sad demise. Last year this was a busy well run, fun family bar with entertianment, wonderful location, friendly and efficient staff.
