Direct Line Car Insurance Customer service and speed of claim settlement was terrible. They sent me a cheque with the wrong name on it meaning I couldn't pay it into my account. Was then told that it would take 5 working days to cancel the cheque before they could initiate an instant transfer. The "next day" transfer then took over 3 days to clear and I'm still waiting. Customer service representatives are friendly but take far too long to get any information to you or get things sorted. I will definitely not renew with Direct Line even if they are £500 cheaper than the competition.

They seem to be poorly organised, lack relevant information and have quality control issues.
