My issue is not in regard to our flight. We had round trip tickets from Denver to Atlanta. We purchased new tickets thru Airtran for our returning flight to Denver, as our son, had been given leave early. He wanted to get back to Colorado, because his leave was going to be cut short, as he needed to be in Germany sooner than he thought. I did not cancel our other return flight until I was standing at the Airtran ticket counter checking in our bags. Two polite Airtran ticket agents told me that I had a credit coming because of my cancelation of the other flight. They issued me a credit receipt and confirmation number. They instructed me to call reservations when I was ready to book my son on a flight back to Atlanta so he could catch his flight to Germany. All I needed to do was read the confirmation number to the reservation agent, and they would apply my credit to my next ticket purchase. I phoned reservations today, and was told that the ticket agents had not correctly done the credit receipt, and they had made no notes. Because of this, even though I have the credit receipt in my hands, and was willing to scan and email to someone, Airtran WOULD NOT honnor the credit. I was told, tough luck....nothing they could do about it. I will never fly Airtran again. Very dishonest practice to not honor a credit receipt, showing the amount of the credit, confirmation number, and agent number. Terrible, terrible business practice.
