Heres my honest opinion of ebay, from user of 10Y with turnover 20k, if you are buying and carefull about what you buy and who you buy it from then you will for the time being have almost exclusively positive experiences. Emphasis on carefull a fool and hios money are easily parted, As for selling, you will have plenty of negative experiences. For this reason interesting sellers are making an Exodus and whats left are sellers of Chinese imports and catalogue returns sellers, the interesting stuff is disappearing and so will the buyers. I have been using Ebay for 10 years and had at least 10 IDs, I am not a business, however I buy/spend £20k a year on Ebay and sell £20k on Ebay each year, so i'm just exchanging stuff constantly, 1000s of items, so my views are not just based on the odd transaction, they are based on a 50:50 buying selling experience with several thousand items being exchanged, getting rid of things I no longer want, and buying the things that I want or need. I have much free time and I have the patience of a saint, however I have been saying for the past 3 years now, that's enough, no more I can't take anymore of this bull from Ebay and Paypal and Buyers and Sellers. in the early years it was a bad experience for buyers and sellers frequently, then selling became a bit more controlled so the bad experiences were mainly as a buyer, in recent years this has been turned around, now buying is more controlled and protected but selling has become a non stop frustrating experience having to deal with being ripped of by buyers constantly and having Ebay and Paypal treat you like ants that get in the way of a tank, This year is the year, no more Ebay for me for ever, and I've done just that, I never want to see that site again, and I've probably got another 30 years to live, so hopefully await the day that it's announced on the news that the Ebay giant has finally died and is no more.
