I had a MCE policy on my original 125 which I canceled by phone and when I got my first big bike. They never canceled it and continued to charge me. I noticed three months later and tried to cancel it again but was told by this point it would cost me more than I would save given the cancellation fee. When I moved house I rung them to amend my policy. All that was mentioned was a slight premium change which I paid. A month later my bike was pushed over by some vandals and I had to make a claim but had still not received my new documents (as it turns out because they sent them to my old address!). When I claimed they said my excess was £450 but on my original insurance policy it was £200 clear as day. Three days later my updated policy came through the post and the excess was £450 so they had clearly changed it without telling me. From then on it has been a succession of different stories ranging from printing errors to "old-style documents" not containing all of the excess details (a lie to try and get rid of me) through to the excess having been £450 all along and I must have lost the page of my policy that it was written on (which is not the case). MCE have so far cost me over £500 more than I agreed to, and if you look them up on facebook I am not the only one. Their quotes are insanely cheap but this is how they make their money, by stealing from their customers. Whatever you do, steer well clear of them. Oh I forgot to mention I am picking up my bike from the garage tomorrow - I have been waiting seven weeks.
