The reason why I decided to write this review is because Haart Estate Agency's dealings with problems and anything in general has gone from poor to worst.

One of my flatmates got married in June 09 and decided to move out at the end of our 1 year contract (2nd October). We have started looking for a replacement and after carefully interviewing many people, we had found a very nice, polite and respectful girl.

I popped into Haart yesterday to ask for the application form for the new tenant and also to discuss about the cost of renewing the contract. I was told to pay £290 for a reference check, furthermore it might be possible that they would charge me for a check in inventory (again!), which costs £130. We feel that Haart is imposing unreasonable charges on us and putting the Landlord's rent income at risk.

I did some research and the actual cost of carrying out a reference check is £15.95. Even with a little extra added to cover Haart's time to submit the reference, there's absolutely no justification for charging £290.

After spending hours on the phone with the Property management team and sending numerous emails back and forth to the local Haart branch in Ealing Broadway, I am still hopeful that they will accept our suggestion. We are happy to pay them £70.50 for the renewal of the contract (as stated in the Tenancy Agreement) plus the cost of the reference check for the new person.

This is not the first time we are treated like this by Haart when a problem arises. If it wasn't for the beautiful flat we live in, we would have been long gone.

My advice to you is to AVOID Haart,
