Purchased a Nissan Micra 03 Plate from ARNOLD CLARK back in 2003.

After a night of rain (as it does in Scotland), i could hear a strange sloshing sound coming from the rear.
To my surprise their was a huge puddle of water in my boot, so i went back to ARNOLD CLARK, and one of repair tech's told me my car had been in a rear end smash and had had a new rear boot and bumper put on it, as he was the one who had previously repaired it.
They fixed the leak, but i couldnt get a refund on the dodgy car as trading standard said "you have to ask if it been in a crash before you buy it to have any come back", great eh!!!
This would not show on an HPI register as ARNOLD CLARK repair alot of their ex hire fleet in house hence never claiming the insurance, but happy to sell on to you and me at full retail dealer prices.
So remember ask the salesman to show you the V5 so you can see the previous owners, if its a company on the V5 it's probably been a ex rental or lease car, so stay clear (you know how people treat thing that arent their own).
But on the other had New and Pre reg deals at ARNOLD CLARK can be good compared to other dealers.
BUT NEVER BUY A 2nd HAND CAR WITHOUT CHECKING THE V5 FIRST, AND ASKING WHO THE PREVIOUS OWNERS WHERE, so you dont get caught out like i did!
