Halo 3: ODST is the latest release in the Halo world from developers Bungie and for the most part you play the game from the viewpoint of a rookie ODST troop and not as Master Chief. This makes a huge difference when attempting to fight brutes and wraiths, you no longer have the ability to regain your life and instead rely on health packs and first aid points scattered about. You still get to pick and choose from a wide range of weapons left about, plasma rifles, carbines etc but the magnum is a great little weapon that allows you to pick off enemies long range, perfect for the grunts.

The graphics are good but most game play is spent in visor mode so that you can actually see the enemies before they are on top of you.

The story so far has been interesting, switching back and forth between past and present events and playing from different characters viewpoints. There are some recogniseable voices on board too with Firefly's Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin and Battlestar's Tricia Helfer. One day in and it's all been pretty good so far, still yet to see what multiplayer has to offer.

Wow...that game was short. Probably only spent 5 hours playing (and that was taking my time and trying to get all the achievements). Well I hope the online multiplayer is worth it...
