If your Redferb Eurosteam iron came with an instructional DVD be sure to view it. I purchased mine 2 years ago at a state fair and after using it for 1 year returned to the fair with some questions. She asked if I had viewed the DVD, which I had not, and showed me what I needed to do by turning the dials to correct the problem. Yes, it does use more water than they say, and if you accidently get a crease it does not come out easily like they demonstrate. However, I use this iron 95% of the time over my regular iron, and it works much more efficiently. I can touch up an item in a fraction of the time that my regular iron would take. I don't think I would like using it for quilting because your fingers would take an awful blow of steam for the tedious work involved in ironing quilt pieces. My biggest suggestion is to let it run completely out of steam before refilling or you risk getting blasted with a burst of steam from the fill hole. I don't unplug it or cool it to refill it, just be sure the pressure is gone before opening it to refill it. It is pricey, but for one who HATES to iron, I am glad that I have it.
