I made the mistake of reading a few reviews for Butlins Minehead and it very nearly put me off before I'd even got there!
All I can say is we had a brilliant time,the accomodation (silver) was perfect and the food was good enough.I think that the people who have had problems while visiting either had extremely bad luck, or were expecting too much for the money they paid.
In fact the only thing I noticed was the extreme rudeness of some of the guests and the mind boggling greed of some people in the dining hall.Just because its supposedly an "all you can eat" buffet, doesn't mean you have to take as much as you can carry,and then leave it on the table!
Just an observation though,and is hardly Butlins'fault.
In summary we had a great time, everywhere you looked someone was cleaning or litter picking.I'd agree that the sole reason for the skyline "tents" existence is to suck money out of your pocket, but show me somewhere like that which doesn't!
