The rep came sharp for he appointment at the fixed time. Started initial canvassing about the company and the product to be the best. Went around and made measurements. No problem so far, nice experience. But the whole thing started to turn upside down after this. Started to fill numbers and prices referring to his guide sheet. He was making his totals for 8wins and 2doors upto 18k, then suddenly said it was 9k on the whole. As i had already fixed a budget on this based on prior quote from a local company, said being a national company, i might go 1k over my existing quote and cannot go further and he is already around 200% of my budget. He then said speaking to his manager, he will go for 5K. I said i need a day to consider or review what info i had from him and will call back him tomorrow. He became uninterested and started removing some untold discounts and raised the total to 6.5K if i don't decide by that day itself, in a threatening manner. Only now, i told him that i got a 150GBP discount voucher for onlinr booking, he said immediately he had already included it in the calculations without any remorse and the amount still stands the same. I got frustrated and had to send him out stating, we will take a day to consider, whether he is interested or not and asked him to confirm his price in a written quotation. He gave me a funny story that there is no clerical staff as if he needs his clerk to type the quotation and wrote in a piece of paper. For me, if he is not ready to give in witting, it is either his price is highly loaded or the company he represents is not of that quality to enforce standards (if not in sales, so cant be in product also). This is my experience, i will leave u readers to detect what u can learn from this.
