Just got back from a three night stay at Pontins Prestatyn, having visited the site with my wife and 2 young boys (aged 4 and 1). Actually thats not quite true,it was meant to be a three night stay but we left after only one night.. here's how it went...

Arrived on site at 4pm.. checked in and drove round to the challet. while unloading our bags of clothes etc from the car I couldn'thelp notice the amount of beer that other people seamed to be unloading all around me.

At 6.45pm we made our way to the childrens entertainment area (starting at 7pm). We left there at 8.30pm as the kids were tired and the entertainment still hadn't started. They were only halfway through the bingo by this time and it didn't look like finishing any time soon.

Back at the chalet, we put the kids to bed and settled down for the night, and oh what a night. At 10.30pm all hell seemed to break loose. Below our first floor chalet, (yes first floor with two small children, a pram etc) the physical (alcohol fuelled) fighting,screaming, crying, then more fighting etc continued on till 4.30am.

Across the way, chalets full of netball playing women were having fun (again alcohol fuelled) running around between each others chalets, screaming and slamming doors etc. Again this carried on till about 4.30am.

At 4.45am I finally decided to lie down on the very uncomfortable sofa bed, (with the wipe clean urine cover sown into the top of the mattress) maybe because they know about all the alcohol people are bringing... and I was up again at 6am with my little boy.

We left that morning never to return. This is a true account of what we experienced. Read it and if you'll take my advice, you'll pick somewhere else. If you don't, good luck and enjoy your stay at what is(in my opinion) a badly run down 1970's council estate, where most of the 'guests' probably arrive with ASBO's and those that don't have just made a mistake, like us.
