I have been with RBS for nearly thirty years and when we first went with this bank they were great however they are now useless.
We paid our mortgage off ten years ago and thought where better than the bank to leave our deeds. Three years ago we needed our deeds and so asked the bank for our deeds. They charged us One hundred and twenty pounds to recover the deeds and then told us they had lost them, with no apology. Our solicitor contacted them to discuss the bank paying to have new deeds drawn up. The bank told him they would allow up to One hundred and twenty pounds, the exact amount we had paid to recover our deeds in the first place. Then our monthly statements started going astray. When we did finally receive them we noticed they had been addressed with just the house name. No road , no town and no postal code. The post office had to open them to see where to deliver them. I contacted the bank manager to complain about the lack of address on our bank statements. To be told she agreed it wasn't good enough but it was a boring job addressing envelopes and mistakes were bound to happen. We have moved our private account and are in the process of moving our business account.
