The Weihrauch HW 77 K = THE BEST .22 HUNTING RIFLE. Yes quite a claim to live up to but boy oh boy it does and more ! The overall quality of this air rifle is unsurpassed by any other air rifle i`ve used or looked at (most of the sub £500 .22 a/r`s) this gun coupled with a top quality 3-9x40 scope will keep on hitting the target in 50p size groups from 30+ meters all day and used with the Weihrauch sound suppressor which mine came fitted with it makes a hell of a hunting gun which has cut a sway through the local tree rat infestation and kept the crow/rook/magpie population in check.I use a 5mw red laser sight with remote switch (thumb activated) to mark the target for a split second just before squeezing off the shot. The HW77K has a lovely trigger action (adjustable) nice recoil pad, excellent quality hardwood stock, 5 star steel, great underlever action and best of all for hunting it`s right on the power limit at 11.8 ftlbs (mine chrono`d at more using a well known pellet lube)so a big male grey squirrel usually only needs 1 shot to dispatch it and all 2 wing targets go in 1. This is a heavy gun but i find that that fact makes it more accurate and also reduces recoil to a minimum . I would say that barring any bad luck this will the gun i use until i stop shooting, it`s a great all rounder and must be an excellent target gun in .177 form i do use mine for some plinking and shooting up cans/bottles etc and at 30m`s range it`ll rip through both sides of a large dog food can, i use RMS or HW pellets (German ammo is tops) try the copper coated for hunting , they are incredibly accurate.Another good addition is a few drops of Napier power pellet lube to a tin of pellets it does all they claim=more power and accuracy. You will love this rifle if you are looking for a high power .22 underlever air rifle this is the king and a testimony to German gunsmiths which is born out when you take a look at the quality of the chequering on the stock and the lovely breach mechanism, even the recoil pad is way better than average being made of elastic.Anyhow i could rave all day about how good this rifle is but i have some shooting to do and you don`t have to take my word for it read the other reviews, has to be the best thought of air rifle ever reviewed.
