I booked a hotel from Lastminute.com for the 19th Sep 2009 but had to cancel it. At first I read their confirmation email, found no Cancellation policy in there! And went to the website to view my account - booking details. They said because my booking is with 48 hours before my check in date so I need to ring them.

However, when I rang at 22:00 on the 17th, the customer service line is closed! So I rang up the hotel on the 18th morning, and they were willing to cancel it free of charge but they ask me to speak to Lastminute.com as they are the only one who has a different cancellation policy.

So, I rang up the number provided on Lastminute.com and they tell me that I have to lose my fee! As I believe that I have followed the T&Cs of theirs. I said I want my money back! And the lady who handled my call spent 2 minutes reading me their policy but I was struggling to tell what she is saying because she can barely make herself heard!

After my first call, I went to check the T&C at http://www.lastminute.com and they have one line saying "If the cancellation policy is not displayed within your confirmation email and you wish to cancel your reservation, it is your responsibility to notify lastminute.com verbally or in writing at least 48 hours prior to the expected check in date. " How nice!

I rang again. I told her I have read the T&Cs myself and I've fully understand it so Lastminute.com has no good reason to charge me a penny! I had to raise my voice when I spoke to her in the end and tell her she should speak to the hotel. She took my phone number and said she will ring me back!

Apparently she is the only one handling the calls today, so I hope my phone will ring in the next few hours or so! Fingers Crossed!
she said I should ring them before 8pm but their T&C only says 48 hour before check in! Lastminute.com hasn't followed their T&C at all! It is so difficult to cancel a booking from Lastminute.com

I wont use them again
