While I wouldn't say don't buy from RC, I would suggest anyone who goes here with the intention of buying, then go pre armed with knowledge as you will end up getting more than is necessary for your needs. I also found the advice they gave totally differs from other advice from experts I had spoken with.
Right, lets start with the sale, I totalled up what I needed from their website, then when I got their I ended up paying over £100 more. I was gobsmacked when they tilled up, I should have questioned and compared prices and items before I left. Turns out I eneded up with a Vivarium for an adult and not a baby, they also flogged me a light, holder and guard which isn't needed for my Lizard, and they also sell wood chip, which is bad for baby lizards as they tend to swallow it causing impaction, maybe death. As a beginner I didn't really get any advice with regards to looking after it. Not even any direction to go to their website for a caresheet.
Also I kept pointing out the prices on their website and how some of them were different from the shop, and the assistant kept trying to say "The internet site is a different business". Well how can this be? I mean you don't look in an Argos catalogue or internet site, get a price then go to collect it and find it is a few £s more in the shop than advertised.
I use them mainly because they are local, and I do intend to get more reptiles but I will be going there fore armed with knowledge.

It's a real shame you had this experience, they were incredibly helpful when i want a corn snake set up. I think you might have just caught them on an off day.
