Went to Motorpoint in Newport to view a VW Golf. Liked the car and arranged PX for my car. Went over the Golf, 2 chips on paintwork and interior of car was dirty with black marks on the roof lining...No problems they said, this will be sorted prior to pickup. Did the paper work (querried the £62.13 extra charge told that was for HPI checks and Pre Delivery Inspection).
As on holiday went to collect car 2 weeks later. Paperwork and payment ok. On collecting car it was obvious that nothing had been done. They agreed and said they would arrange for cleaning. No HPI check information. Took car home, no radio code and second key didn't even fit the car locks or ignition. Return to Motorpoint and eventually after proving that the second key did not belong to the the car was told to go to my nearest VW dealer and order a new key which motorpoint would pay for. Attended Motorpoint on arranged date for the car valetting, was told that I wasn't expected. On returning home and visiting Motorpoints website to try and get some customer contact number discovered that the £62.13 was optional. Rang Motorpoint and enquired that as the PDI and cleaning wasn't done could I get a refund on that and I would get the car valetted myself. 24 hours later still waiting for a call back... Bad Customer Service.
