My daughter has used Color Silk a lot; I work at Wal*Mart so I see A LOT of it sold, but I always said, "it's too cheap; it's going to hurt my hair." Well, after using the much more expensive stuff MANY times, I tried the Color Silk, and LOVED the color much better than what the others gave me. I have naturally medium brown hair with a little gray and use the medium ash blond coloring; it comes out a nice dark ash blond to light ash brown, and after a few shampooings, it lightens a bit more. I do have a bit of unwanted red tone, but my Husband actually LOVES that, so it's ok. Think that I'll continue using this product. I do use two boxes and I leave it on about 45 minutes to get the desired results, but two boxes of this is still less expensive than one of the more expensive brands, and I had to use two of those as well. So, good product at a GREAT price!!!! I do need a bit more conditioning after using it for a few shampoos, I think, but then it becomes quite soft and shiny with just the normal amount. I might add that I do the all-over coloring each time and not just root touch-ups as as often as I shampoo my hair, it seems to fade out enough to need the whole treatment.
