I was a member of Fitness First Berkeley Square branch for which they charge as a platinum club purely because of the location and certainly not for the facilities which were frequently filthy and overcrowded due to the extremely small size of the club.
I cancelled my membership after 3 months but due to the 12 month contract had to continue paying. They then proceeded to debit my account for 18 months and threatend recovery action by a debt firm when I cancelled my direct debit. I then had to pay a further month even though they had already taken £300 unauthorised from my account.
This was entirely down to their incompetent administration. Avoid this club.
