Ordered cat food on 10 September due to Chemist Direct's low price and promise of fast free delivery. When nothing had arrived by 15 September contacted CD through their website.

I was advised order had not been shipped and was told they could not guarantee to deliver the next day. I told them that this was unacceptable as I was going away on 17 September and asked to cancel the order and be given a refund. This request was ignored.

I contacted them again and they cancelled the order and offered a refund in 3 - 5 working days, despite taking my money immediately when I placed my order, which is unreasonable when money can be transferred immediately online.

Their excuse for total failure to honour the contract I had with them was that they had stock shortages and I should have been, but was not, emailed about this. Wrong. Their website should have shown the item as out of stock and they shouldn't have taken an involuntary ten day loan from me.

I recommend avoiding this company.

I would have rated them 1* but this site doesn't allow me to.
