I have been a think banking customer for 3 and a half years now and it is a bit of a pain to use, usually because you are always having to phone them to transfer money or sort out a problem usually which has arisen by them not transfering money over to the card account, and with it being an 0845 number you get charged a fortune as the average time to have your call answered is 10-15 mins, and everytime you phone they want to run through regular payments with you which means even longer on the phone before you get your problem sorted!!
It is good in the respect that they hold the money to pay all your bills, but i think the charge of £12.50 a month is too high esp when you are having to do all the calling to sort out all the problems yourself! They tend to take money for bills too early, which is esp annoying if you have money paid in on a Sat and they hold onto all of it leaving you broke until monday morning!! One time they held back all my wages for bills that werent due for nearly a month, leaving me with £3 all weekend!! Not good when you have children to feed!! So you do have to be pretty firm with them as you will find yourself constantly on the phone trying to sort things out!!
I cant wait for the new mastercard version they are posting out in Oct, as the current card is declined in a few stores leaving you red faced and trying to prove you have money in your account!!! I also notice it doesnt work in some cash machines either, usually the ones that dont allow maestro without cirrus - as the maestro card wont work in it, meaning you have to travel miles to find a card machine that works!! It doesnt work in the portable cash machines either that you find in pubs/clubs or shops like booths etc...so be aware of this.
