I would not touch any of the culligan Water softners even if they were the last softners on this planet.
I have had nothing but grief since being associated with the brand and have now moved on to companies like Harveys and Monarch who have customer services skills and want to assist.

Have now sold over 60 softners between Harveys and Monarch and not one complaint or negative feedback or any bits missing and as far as salt efficiency goes they are just as good as culligan Claim to be when their softners work.

Buy a culligan and be prepared to have your softner flooded or pack up if not serviced every single year.
