TOMLEECEE's Review of Fitness First
10th Sep 2009
Overall Rating
- Value for money

Because of the nature of my job I spend a lot of my time in different cities living in hotels. Being a bit of a fitness freak I thought joining Fitness First would be a good move because no matter where I was working, I'd be able to visit the local branch and work out. For the most part, I have had no problems with this and have visited many different branches of Fitness First. The gyms themselves have varied massivley in quality though, and usually it depends on the location of the gym. Without appearing snobbish, the branches in more 'deprived' areas tend to be less well looked after than those in more affluent places. These more shabby branches tend to have more broken machines and random weights strewn across the floor, whilst staff come across as rude. Another problem was that some branches are for women only, which I find slightly bizarre in this day and age. Overall, I have had a good experience with Fitness First and their larger gyms are generally very bright and airy. Some branches offer free refreshments and samples of various health foods and also offer various classes. Alsa, I am leaving my job and moving to an area where no Fitness First branches exist, so I am having to cancel my membership but for the year or so I have been a member I have generally enjoyed using the facilities.
