EMusic www are scam artists, (Iwould have put zero stars on their ratimg except I'm not sure it works).
I was connectede to that 50 free tunes offer , via downloading WinAmp onto my PC.
I recal looking at the info briefly, but not opening an account, joining up with them or anything like.Next thing I knew was a £10.00 charge on my Debit card. (I could not understand how this had come about, as I had not dowqnloaded anything from them, nor to my cocious memory joined the site.
Today,I have been trying to contact them in some way to say, this is wrong , whats going on , and if it came down to them saying and proving I had joined their site, I would explain that bit was completly by mistake, (The fact that I had not taken up the offer of free downloads, nor anything else should be proof enough).
From my experience, if you have a mistake like this with a legitimate company, they will always refund your money and cancel your account. So far however I have not been able to contact them without signing on or joining them (If you do this then you are immediatly making it easier for them to steal from you). I discovered that if you join uo, you are given a free two week membership & are then charged (whether you have used their services or not - Enough reason for Alarm bells to ring & to stay well clear)
This is what I think I must have done innocently & without realising that I had actually joined their site, when I was simply taking a look at the initial offer of 50 free downloads. I think this is how they have managed to steal from me so far (let them sue me for my allegations if they are innocent)
To actually contact them and close this scam I have had to fill in the 'can't recall password box , which has led them to send me a new password / link to their site. At this moment I am unsure whether to do this, because they have not proved in any way my membership (like telling me the password I used), and by joining or connecting with them on their terms I am opening myself up for more theft from my account.
MY ADVICE TO ANYONE READING THIS IS STAY WELL CLEAR OF THEM, & IF THAT IS TOO LATE THEN INFORM YOUR BANK OR CARD COMPANY OF THEIR VERY QUESTIONABLE DEALINGS, PLUS ANY OTHER SERVICES OR INTERNET LINKS TO THEM.
Finally, as with all such people,organisations etc, do not let them drag you down to their level, by getting angry, or having or acting on any negative emotions or thoughts.Instead think of them as the poor, ignorant part of the whole enchelada thay are & do what you can to help them to stop their harmful ways, (To themselves aswell as all else, & for the contiued path to the total liberation, enlightenment of all)
