We have just returned from a mid-week break from St Ives holiday Village. We have two children (5 & 2 years old). Where do I begin.........firstly the chalet was absolutely vile. It was really damp and smelly. In fact it was so damp that our honey cheerios cereal that we brought with us for the kids all stuck together in the box and turned into one large clump. The sofa in the lounge area was broken and you sank almost onto the floor, there was no shower and only a half sized bath and there were no plug sockets in the bedrooms. On the internal walls they use some sort of fake laminate tounge and groove cladding. This was all peeling away and looked unsightly. We attempted to use the pool one day, but the baby pool was freezing so we only stayed in there for about 10 minutes. I know I sound like I'm being a moaner, but please don't read this review and think that I'm purposely trying to pick fault. I'm realistic and I don't expect everything to be 100% but seriously, this was really, really grim. I would go as far to say that the damp is a potential health hazard. No matter how cheap you see this for just bare in mind that there's a very good reason for it.
