I have just returned back from butlins minehead and had a very busy wonderful time. We stayed in a silver room on a dbb package. The room was very very clean spacious and more than we expected. it was basic but just what we needed. The bins were emptied daily and the area we were in pacific wharf was clean and lovely and quiet. In fact we noticed just how clean the whole area was. The staff we came into contact with were amazing. Firstly our meals were in the ocean drive restaurant. Now we are not fussy with food at all but unfortunately we struggled with this. We found that the food was very bland and poor. it was more over cooked so at least we knew we wouldn't get ill but it wasn't very nice. After trying it for a couple of days we asked to speak to the catering manager in the Skyline. We told him we understood that because of the number of covers, [ they serve 2200 people every 2hrs ] that the food would be mass produced but we asked if we could pay the extra to upgrade the food.He was wonderful and said he understood our predicament and that they were aware the food would not suit everyone. He upgraded us to the boat house restaurant for deluxe customers only. It was the next one up from the gold restaurant. Well what a difference!!!! It sat 90 people in total and i never saw more than 8 people in their so finding a table and being served was not an issue. The food was that of a good restaurant and the choice was fantastic. For this reason i can not turn this into a complaint as we thought that we were treated very efficently and to a high standard. The staff in both of the restaurants were very friendly, warm and helpful. And the staff in the rest of the resort were approachable and went out of their way to help. All the facilities were clean and the entertainment was amazing. the only thing that was a shame was the need to cue up for hrs to guarentee a seat in the clubs. [ people were in the cue 3hrs before doors opened ] However the centre stage club holds 2800 seats so this isn't really butlins fault. i mean how can you top that????? overall we were very happy with our holiday and my 5 year old found their were simply not enough hours in the day to do all she wanted. Also the food and drinks were extremely good value

Centre Parcs say that is was due to refurbishment, I beleive it was due to labour costs at this quiet time of the year. Albeit still great choice in the eating department.
