My daughter & I visited Pontins, Prestatyn for the first time at the end of the summer holidays. I read a few reviews before we went so I knew what to expect but wanted to keep an open mind.
The good points first:
* £129 for 4 nights accomodation was very reasonable.
* Pleasantly surprised at the Classic appartment-clean & tidy.
* Check in was quick.
* Soft play area ("wacky warehouse" style) was good & large, somewhere to relax when kids play.
* Pontins vouchers came in handy.
* Queen Vic-Karaoke good as were meals & curry night.
Now the bad points:
* The swimming pool was an OK size but the changing facilities & showers were inadequate for the amount of people using the pool and dirty.
* PGL activities-I was disappointed that my daughter could not partake as she is under 4 ft & the age of 8. Surely some activities could have a different restrictions?
* Bingo went on far too long & evening entertainment was not up to much. Bluecoats were amusing & kept things going.
* Fun fare, bars & fast food outlets opened a bit late. Food was ok in main Beach Combers but there was little choice.
* Security guards were few & far between until the last night.
Overall you get what you paid for. I think if the weather was better we would have went out & about but most of the time it was torrential rain & high winds. Unfortunately no one can change British weather! We may re-visit but overall I prefer Butlins at Minehead.
