I agree Polycell SmoothOver Textured Walls & Ceilings is messy and not ideal as a solution and overpriced. After struggling with textured wallpapered ceilings for hours I sought advice and was told to simply fix new plasterboard over the ceilings and dry-line fill the joins. A few sheets of plasterboard and a small amount of filling later and I had lovely smooth celings that were easy to paint!
