You get what you pay for at CARGIANT!!!!

Was a little bit apprehensive about using Car Giant from the reviews but was tempted by the price!

I travelled 163 miles each way to visit CG as I'd been searching the country for a reasonably priced Jag X-type 2.2d. Saw what I wanted on the website and confirmed it was the correctt model so travelled down, only to find that a "clercial error" had occurred and it was only one of the more common 2.0d rather than the 2.2d engines I'd been promised!

I did however like the car as it was well priced at between £500 and £1000 below the cheapest I'd seen. The car does need some cosmentic work doing such as scratches, alloys needing refurbishment, and a good valet, but felt this was reflected in the price. The car drove A1 and has a full documented service history so think I was probably quite lucky! Be warned though, alot of the cars (including mine) aren't generally in showroom condition. They have scratches, scrapes etc and are generally quite dirty inside, and appear to have been completely untouched straight from the lease company / auction house. I was promised that mine would be fully valeted for when I picked it up, but when I came to collection it hadn't even been washed on the outside never mind inside! Personally take what the salesman says with a pinch of salt!

Customer service is poor and pushy. I'd not been through the gates my first visit for more than 10 seconds before I was pounced on by one of the sales people. He was polite and helpful, but the test drive was only for about 2 minutes (he stated for "insurance purposes"?) and then came the very hard sell for paintwork protection, GAP insurance and warranties. At one stage I nearly walked out as I was pressed for time, not just cos of the lengthy sales pitch, but in the middle of the transaction he walked off and started serving another customer!

In summary prices are cheap but this is reflected in the condition of the cars and lack of customer service, so be very careful!!!
