I used amazon'S DVD rental and found their service to be good. When they moved to lovefilm I was initially impressed with the apparent choice. However it soon irritated me that I couldn't predictably get my top-choice films.
The major fault with their service is that they operate no quality control [other than relying on their customers to tell them when the supplied disc is faulty!].12 of the last 20 discs I have received wouldn't play straight out of the sleeve [all but 2 would play after careful cleaning]. They are frequently covered in dirt and scratches. Their response to complaints / concerns is to send replacement DVDs and an occasional cleaning cloth. They miss the point entirely - THAT THEY ARE IN THE BUSINESS OF SUPPLYING FUNCTIONING DVDS. The company is too arrogant about its position in the market and will fail.
