Gulf Air is the worst airline ever experienced. Flights from London to Bahrain to Bangkok, took 36 hours when it was supposed to take 20 odd. Multiple delays including;
Emergency landing at Istanbul required, long delays.
Waiting trapped inside a glass shuttle bus on tarmac in mid-day Bahrain heat for 1 hour while plane was prepped.
Changing the aeroplane passenger door because it didn't fit and close properly. Mechanic summoned to fit the door, that took a few hours.
We subsequently missed our domestic connedcting flight to Phuket and had to pay for another one (NokAir).
Staff were unsympathetic and rude, food was bad and all options not available. Drinks were good because they were free and plentiful.
I am not a moaning old so and so. I am a young male who is used to slumming it when required and within a group of 5. We were all greatly disappointed and angered. Very Stressful. Felt like death upon arrival. I have travelled to Australia before and can handle a long flight but this was ridiculous.
When Gulf air were challenged over this one of us did recieve an apologetic gesture of 500 air miles. These guys are long haul!
This airline makes me angry thinking about it!

    I completely agree witht his review, I live in Saudi Arabia and tend to fly in and out of Bahrain regularly. Up until recently I have always flown with Gulf, due to the price, however not anymore. I have been bumped off a flight with no reason given and recently I flew Athens to Bahrain, they had no drinks, expect white wine and orange juice. They also ran out of all the food, except for Lamb. When we advised we didnt eat lamb, they handed us two beef dishes that had obviously been handed to previous passengers and given back, my beef even had a bite mark in it. Customer service is a joke with Gulf, prepare to wait a long time for an answer if you do complain.
