Being a cabbie, the AA route planner is very handy! If I'm trying to work out the best way to get somewhere - like an airport run, in advance, then I rely on this website. It tells me the exact mileage... and I can put in as many 'VIA's' as I want. Perfect!

But does it give you the exact mileage? Since my company started using AA routes to check expenses claims we notice significant discrepancies in distances measured via car odometers to those stated as correct in AA (& other) route finder products. Are the odometers at fault?
