I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A FRIDGE FOR OVER 1 MONTH NOW!!!!!!!

Bought a Whirlpool fridge freezer with 5 years extended warranty from Comet in March 2008. The fridge freezer stoped cooling in July 2009. On 15th of July 2009 I made the initial phone call to Comet and the engineer came out 6 days later saying the fridge needs regasing and that he will send someone else to do it. In 5 days I was expecting someone to come and regas the fridge but an engineer turned up with no tools and established that the thermostat is faulty and needs replacement. On 30th of July they replaced the thermostat and the next day everything in my fridge was frozen!!!

Called again, arranged the appointment, the engineer didn't turn up!!!!!!
Called again, engineer came to check the fridge and this time again THE THERMOSTAT (NEW ONE) IS FAULTY!!!!! How ridiculous!!!!!!

Now they've ordered yet another thermostat and god knows if they will ever actually repair my fridge (I do not dare to mention the replacement to them any more).

Their customer service is useless as they all behave like robots repeating the same thing over and over again and that is:" We have to try to repair it before we can write it off as the insurance company needs reassurances that it is unrepairable....bla bla bla bla", and they are trying to explain the Comet's organisational structure which should really remain transparent to me as their customer.

I am absolutely frustrated with this experience and I would like to find out if there is a legal base to sue them for this as I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A FRIDGE FOR OVER 1 MONTH NOW!!!!!!!
