Difficult to convey just how good Fischer's Baslow Hal is from just star ratings - after all, the most basic cafe is capable of a full 5 star rating based on the broad classifactions of service and food quality and value for money - however, for Michelin starred food and an unmatched wine list, I can't think of a better venue. I have been there three times now and would gladly recommend it. I went last week and enjoyed their Prestige Taster menu and a bottle of D'Angulet 2004 Margaux. The service was quiet, efficient and unobtrusive. each of the 9 courses were announced as they were brought in by the waiters. Wine and water glasses were filled without the need to catch a waiter's eye. The accommodation in the Hall and garden extension is adequate but you don't go there for the accommodation (even though Baslow Hall provides elegant surroundings). It is not a cheap evening out - the total cost for the meal, accommodation for one night and bakery breakfast was £350 - but for a special occasion where you want to appreciate fine food in pleasant surroundings, I haven't seen better.
