We booked 2 cars through Atlas Choice in November 2008 for our holiday booked on 28th July 2009, so they had plenty of notice to fulfill our requirements. We arrived at Faro airport with three small children to find there were no cars available. They could not offer any kind of help other than to call our agent (ATLAS) in the morning. We arrived at 2100hrs and found that there were no cars available to rent with any companies other than AVIS. We had no choice but to hire cars from an alternative car hire company as there were 6 adults and 3 children now stranded at Faro airport!!!! The customer service department at ATLAS are of no help whatsoever, and have not returned any phone calls or emails, or replied to our recorded delivery letter, which they claim they have not received!!! We had to pay an extortionate amount of money for the cars through AVIS (over 2,000 euros!!) and have now got to fight to get this money back!! Going by other people's comments, seems the only way is through a small claims court!! what a disaster to what could have been a wonderful holiday!!
