Pontins, Prestatyn Review

Just got back from a 4 night stay in a club apartment at Pontins Prestatyn. Check in was easy. We got asked if we would like a free cleaning service so I said ok. The room was nice and clean and much bigger than the club rooms at Pontins Brean Sands. The floor was a laminate which was a lot better than carpets that can get dirty and sticky. The only thing that didn't work was the microwave, but that was only because the consumer unit braker had tripped. After about 10 minutes of arriving there was a knock at the door. A guy in a suit with a clip board asking if everything was ok. I reported the microwave issue and within 5 minutes a guy came to fix the problem. He even tested it with a glass of water after resetting the trip.

The site facilities were good. We used the pool everyday and it was clean. The lifeguards were quick to stop people messing about which was good as I was teaching my son to swim.

We went to the crazy golf, play area, lunars bar, fun factory, queen vic, softplay and I have to say that they were all good.

As per someone's previous comment, the bingo went on too long. Most nights it dragged on from selling tickets at 6:30 through to 8:30pm. By the time the evening cabaret act came on it was nearly 10pm. Having 2 young kids meant that they were either asleep or tired by that time of day.

The bar drinks were not too bad for price. A pint of beer was £2.70 and lager £2.80. Having a voucher for 50p off meant a few cheap pints plus a 4 pint jug offer for £7.99 so only £2 a pint! Bottles were as usual expensive at £3.40 but there were some vouchers that were 3 for 2.

The on-site photographers did a professional job but we found one thing that was a little annoying. If you get your photo taken with a Pontins Character, you have to buy a specific photo frame. We had a photo taken of our son with the Scooby Doo character, (the scooby show was very well done.)
After waiting in line for 10 minutes at the photo counter we were told that we had to buy the photo frame from the Nisa supermarket next door! Why? Because Pontins said so....thats why. So off to the Nisa shop to buy the frame and then back to the photo counter to wait again. There were many other people caught out by this stunt pulled by pontins.

On a while, the holiday was good and I would go back.
